A multifaceted scientist, Marco Magistri possesses deep knowledge encompassing the spectrum of basic research, drug discovery and pre-clinical trials. He is an expert in immunology, genetics, molecular and cell biology, and a specialist in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
Dr. Magistri has 13 years of research experience including eight years of postdoctoral work in academic institutions. At the end of his graduate studies, he was awarded the Fellowship for Prospective Researcher from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). He has authored and co-authored 26 manuscripts in top tier journals and his work has focused on different molecular and cell biology techniques for the identification and understanding of specific signaling pathways and processes involved in the pathogenesis of complex diseases.
Respected as a mentor and interdisciplinary team leader, Dr. Magistri managed the CLIA-certified diagnostic lab of a biotechnology company. He is also a primary member of the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) at the University of Miami where he is responsible for the review and oversight of research utilizing recombinant DNA and synthetic molecules.
