Consent for Babylon Health research
Babylon Partners Limited (08493276), at 60 Sloane Avenue, London SW3 3DD (“Babylon”), and its subsidiaries, affiliates, agencies or assignees, including Babylon Inc., a Delaware corporation at 801 Barton Springs Rd., Austin, TX 78704 ("Companies"), conduct studies and research on Babylon’s behalf. References to ‘we’, ‘our’ or ‘us’ shall include Babylon and/or Companies.
The purpose of this study (the "Research") is to understand people's healthcare experiences and how they use our products and services. Your participation will help improve Babylon products and services. The data collected will only be used for product design and improvement purposes.
In the US, the research you are participating in is conducted by Babylon, Inc, a technology company, in order to improve products it provides to healthcare entities. This research is not conducted on behalf of these healthcare entities. Participants are recruited from the general public. Babylon Inc. does not knowingly recruit persons eligible for or receiving healthcare services provided by its telemedicine partners. As such, participants in research are subject to Babylon Inc.’s Privacy Policy.
Babylon may publish reports that include your comments and actions. Any such publications will not identify you as an individual and will be anonymous, meaning your name and identity will not be linked back to you.
Participation in the Research is voluntary. You can withdraw at any time and for any reason by contacting user.research@babylonhealth.com. Please note, once we have started to combine the data, we will only be able to delete identifiable data (e.g. videos, your name), but not your de-identified data (e.g. quotes from you, not linked to your name).
Information we collect
We may ask you questions about your health and healthcare experiences, and what you think about our products and services. We may ask you to use example products and services and watch how you do various tasks. We will record the session (audio and visual) and take notes during or after the session.
How your information is treated
The product design teams may observe the sessions or watch the recordings. The recordings will be treated as confidential and will not be shared outside of Babylon or the Companies. Access to your information is restricted on an as-needs basis if absolutely necessary to fulfill a role. Any Companies instructed to perform the Research on Babylon’s behalf shall be subject to strict confidentiality and data protection contractual obligations.
We will delete all recordings in which you could be directly identified within 2 years from the date of the session.
We use appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data and any transfers of data will be in accordance with the Babylon Privacy Policies for the UK and for the US.
Your rights
Your information is treated in accordance with Babylon’s Privacy Policies.
You may ask Babylon to correct, stop processing, erase, or provide access to your data. For any further information and questions, please email DPO@Babylonhealth.com and us-privacy@babylonhealth.com
Confidentiality
During and as part of the Research, Babylon may show you non-public information relating to the company’s business operations (“Confidential Information”). Confidential Information shall include any piece of information, which a reasonable person would perceive to be of a confidential nature. You agree not to disclose any Confidential Information to anyone, that being an individual or a company, and to not record or otherwise make any copies of any Confidential Information presented to you.
All Confidential Information will remain the exclusive property of Babylon and the disclosure of any Confidential Information, as part of the Research, shall not at any point constitute a transfer or assignment to you of the rights in the Confidential Information.
As part of the Research you may provide suggestions or comments on Babylon’s products, services, or Confidential Information (“Feedback”). All intellectual property rights in the Feedback shall immediately be owned by Babylon.
The obligations of confidentiality shall apply for a period of ten (10) years from the date you were presented with the Confidential Information. In the case of trade secrets, the confidentiality obligations shall survive until such Confidential Information no longer constitutes a trade secret.
