How do GLP-1 medications work?

Manage your hunger

GLP-1 signals to your brain that you are full.

Stay fuller for longer

GLP-1 keeps food in your stomach to satisfy your hunger.

Balance your blood sugar

GLP-1 prevents excess sugar turning into fat by storing it in the liver.

Reduce fat storage

GLP-1 triggers insulin from the pancreas, briefly lowering blood sugar to reduce fat conversion.

So far the programme has helped me to keep on track, see the results & shown me it is possible for me to lose weight and keep it off.

Weight loss: Everything you need to know

How long is the programme?

expand iconshrink icon

We recommend following our programme for at least six months to see significant results. However, the programme is set up as a monthly subscription so you can take it one month at a time.

Do the medications have side effects?

expand iconshrink icon

All the GLP-1 medications we offer have undergone rigorous clinical trials to establish long term suitability for long term use. Some people taking GLP-1 medications do experience side effects, however these are typically mild and go away after a week or so. The most common side effects are related to an upset stomach - e.g., nausea, diarrhoea, gas. We provide tips on how to best manage these until they go away. As with all medication, please read the leaflet for more information.

What happens when I stop the medication?

expand iconshrink icon

Medication alone can help you lose weight, but it will not help you keep it off. That is why we pair medication with coaching, to help you make long term changes to your habits that will help you keep the weight off after you stop the medication.

Who is eligible?

expand iconshrink icon

These medications are only suitable for patients with a BMI >30 or with BMI >27 with certain health conditions (e.g., high blood pressure). To find out if you are eligible, take our questionnaire.

Why choose this approach over diets or exercise programmes?

expand iconshrink icon

This approach has three main benefits over exercise programmes and diets. Firstly, it’s a complete solution that tackles all aspects that affect your weight: diet, exercise, stress and sleep. Secondly, it is the only non-surgical method clinically proven to reduce hunger and result in significant weight loss.

Thirdly, it is personalised to you and your challenges - we will help you create healthy habits that you can stick to, enabling you to keep the weight off long term.

How do exercise and diet fit into the programme?

expand iconshrink icon

This programme combines medication with changes to your diet and lifestyle. With free access to our Physiotherapists  & Mental Health Nurses, they can work with you to address the core pillars affecting your weight: movement, sleep and stress. Making these lifestyle changes will be key to maximising your results and maintaining your weight loss after you come off the medication.

How will this programme benefit my long-term health?

expand iconshrink icon

If you are overweight, losing weight can help prevent your risk of many chronic diseases and add years to your life expectancy. It can also alleviate specific conditions such as joint pain and sleep apnoea. With free access to our Physiotherapists & Mental Health Nurses, they can work with you to address underlying injuries affecting your movement, sleep and stress.

Can I have as many mental health and physiotherapy appointments as I want?*
